Local Parks in Spartanburg

We spent our week checking out some of the many awesome parks Spartanburg has to offer!  There was no way we could make to all of them, so be sure to check out Spartanburg Parks to see the complete list!  Do you know of any more must see parks in Spartanburg?  We’d love to hear from you! Airport Park

 

Anchor Park

ANCHOR PARK⚓: One of our favorite parks! It has a great view of Lake Bowen, American Ninja Warrior-type obstacles, and restrooms near the playground 🙌🏻⠀


📍8515 Hwy 9 Inman 29349
🚗: The parking lot is close to the park entrance and easy to find.⠀
🚽: There is an air conditioned, clean bathroom.⠀
☀: There is plenty of shade with several benches and swings! You may even get to sit for a few😜⠀
🍽: There are several shaded picnic tables inside the fence of the playground and a covered pavilion. ⠀
🔲: The playground is fenced in with an opening for the bathrooms and several gate entrances scattered around. There is water on 3 sides of the playground, so closing the gates and watching the exits closely is a must.⠀
🚴🏽: No bike paths, leave the scooters at home!⠀ *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*

 

 

Arkwright Park

 

 

Boiling Springs Community Park

🌳BOILING SPRINGS COMMUNITY PARK🌳: This park has a great play area with trails, lots of green space AND there is a fire station right next door for the fire truck loving little kiddos🙌🏻⠀⠀

 

📍: 182 Rainbow Lake Rd. Boiling Springs
🚗: There is a parking lot right next to the park.⠀
🚽: We didn’t see any public restrooms but it was a quick visit. Let us know if you know of any.⠀
☀: There are lots of trees creating shade throughout the green space but no shade over the play ground. ⠀⠀⠀
🍽: There are covered picnic tables scattered around the park⠀
🔲: Not fenced in⠀
🚴🏻: This is the perfect park for scooters or bikes. There is a paved path that goes through the park. ⠀

Chapel Street Park

 

 

Cleveland Park

CLEVELAND PARK: This is such a cool park. There is a great playground for smaller kids too. ⠀

📍: 141 N. Cleveland Park Drive
🚗: The parking lot is an easy walk to the gazebo, bridge, bathrooms, and playground. ⠀
🚽: There is an air conditioned bathroom at the top of the playground ⠀
☀: There isn’t any shade on the actual playground so pick a time when it’s not too hot to check it out. There are some picnic tables in the shade ⠀
🍽: There are several picnic tables inside the fence of the playground⠀ ⠀
🚴🏽: There are paths around the park for scooters and bikes 👍🏻
🙌🏻: This park gets extra points for its bridges, pond, bike/walking paths, and the creativity in the design of the playground. Lots of unique features!

 

 

Croft State Park

🌳CROFT STATE PARK🌳: This is one of our favorite places in Spartanburg! You can camp, picnic, canoe, fish, play in the creek, bocce ball, AND there’s a play ground for your little ones!⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀

📍: 450 Croft State Park Road (follow the signs towards the lake and you will pass the play ground) ⠀⠀
🚗: There is a parking lot right next to the play ground.⠀⠀
🚽: There are potties located near the play ground.⠀⠀
☀: There are lots of trees and shade all around. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍽: There are covered picnic tables scattered through out Croft!⠀
🔲: Not fenced in⠀⠀
🚴🏻: Croft is a great place for experienced mountain bikers, but we don’t recommend for those just learning. We haven’t found any smooth bike paths. ⠀⠀

Downtown Library Park

🌳DOWNTOWN LIBRARY PARK🌳: We love our libraries! Not only do they host lots of fun events, they have an awesome play space too! The playground is right outside of the children’s section and is open during library hours. Weekdays 9am – 9pm, Saturdays 9am – 6pm, and Sunday’s 1:30pm – 6pm🙌🏻⠀⠀⠀

🚗: Plenty of parking in the library parking lot⠀
🚽: Very clean restrooms inside the library!⠀⠀⠀
☀: There is minimal shade around the playground but not directly over the playground equipment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍽: There are several tables and benches around the playground.⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔲: The playground is COMPLETELY closed in! ⠀⠀
🚴🏻: No bikes or scooters at this park. ⠀⠀

Duncan Park

DUNCAN PARK⚾: This small playground is located near the baseball fields in Duncan Park and is just a short walk away from the amphitheater, tennis courts, lake, and nature trails.

📍81 West Park Drive
🚗: Parking is located near the playground on the street… hold hands!⠀
🚽: No accessible restrooms (that we found unlocked).⠀
☀: Small amount of shade over the playground area so wear your sunscreen and pick a time when it’s not so hot 👌🏼⠀⠀
🔲: There is no fence around the play area.⠀
🚴🏽: There is a mountain bike trail but it may not be best for your smallest cyclist.⠀ *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*

 

 

 

 

Happy Hollow Park

🌳HAPPY HOLLOW PARK🌳: This popular neighborhood park is located in Converse Heights. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍: Glendalyn Avenue, Spartanburg ⠀⠀⠀
🚗: Parking is available on the street beside the park.⠀⠀⠀
🚽: No potties in the park.⠀⠀⠀
☀: There is lots of shade throughout the park. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍽: There is a covered picnic shelter and plenty of green space where you could picnic on a blanket!⠀⠀
🔲: The park is fenced in. Some gates remain open so you do have to keep an eye out on the exits!⠀
🚴🏻: There is a short paved path in the park perfect for young bikers and scooters.⠀

Hillcrest Park

🌳HILLCREST PARK🌳: I’m not sure what took us so long to discover this park. It is located right off East Main Street in Spartanburg!⠀

📍: 1432 Maryland Avenue
🚗: Parking was easy to get to and right beside the park. ⠀
🚽: There are no permanent potties- but we have spotted port a potties close by.⠀
☀: There are lots of trees creating shade throughout the playground. ⠀
🍽: There is a cute covered pavilion with several picnic tables and water fountains⠀
🔲: The playgrounds aren’t fenced in but it’s separated from the road. The playground is a great play space, but there are a few openings that can be a little scary for the younger kids. ⠀
🚴🏽: There is a concrete area that is perfect for scooters. 👍🏻⠀ *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*

 

 

 

Irwin Park

 

 

 

Miracle Park

💫MIRACLE PARK💫: This park is great! It is wheelchair accessible and is designed for children ages 2-12 with varying abilities. The ground is made of rubber rather than mulch. 🙌🏻 #HCKparkweek

🚗: Parking lot is close to the park with plenty of parking spots.⠀
🚽: There is an air conditioned, clean bathroom.⠀
☀: Not a ton of shade over the playground area so wear your sunscreen and pick a time when it’s not so hot 👌🏼⠀
🔲: The playground is fenced in on all sides 👍🏻👍🏻⠀
🚴🏽: There is a sign that states no bikes, scooters, or skateboards within the park. *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*

Stewart Park

💦STEWART PARK:💦: This is another one of our FaVoRiTe parks! It has a splash pad, great playground, and a pavilion. 🙌🏻⠀⠀

📍: 500 Highland Ave⠀⠀
🚗: There is a parking lot at the back of the park with plenty of parking ⠀⠀⠀⠀
🚽: There have been porta potties out there when we’ve been but no permanent restrooms. ⠀
☀: No shade directly over the playground but they can cool off in the splash pad or under the pavilion. ⠀⠀
🍽: Covered picnic area with several tables ⠀⠀
🔲: The playgrounds aren’t fenced in but it’s separated from the road by a hill and a brick wall. ⠀
🚴🏽: There are sidewalks from the picnic area to the splash pad that could be used for scooters but not much of a bike trail. *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*

 

Summerhill Park

 

 

Tyger River Park

💦TYGER RIVER PARK💦: This park has it all- splash pad, playground, huge sand pit, baseball fields, concession stand, nice restrooms, pavilions, etc. ⠀

📍195 Dillard Rd. Duncan, SC
🚗: There is plenty of parking but it is a pretty good walk from the parking lot to the playgrounds/splash pad.⠀
🚽: There is an air conditioned, clean bathroom.⠀
☀: There is shade throughout the park but not over the splash pad. ⠀
🔲: The splash pad is fenced in

 

Willow Oaks Park

🌳WILLOW OAKS PARK🌳: This is a cute little park in Hampton Heights. It has swings, a tunnel and lots of shade 🙌🏻⠀

📍: W Hampton Ave. ⠀
🚗: There is parking on the road beside the park but no parking lot ⠀⠀
🚽: No restroom access⠀⠀
☀: There are lots of trees creating shade throughout the playgrounds this is a good one for a sunny day. ⠀⠀
🍽: There are picnic tables and an outdoor grill⠀
🔲: Not fenced in⠀ *Please use your own discretion and only go to a park where you feel comfortable and safe*
